As we get settled into 2016, I’ve come to learn that life has a habit of throwing both difficult tragedies, as well as suprising triumphs. As Apostle Paul, I want to be ready to handle both. It’s funny how both trials and triumphs require preparation. Thankfully, God has a masterful way of preparing us to handle both.
Are You Ready?

Loving the Perfectly Im-Perfect Me
Recently, I listened to Smokie Norful’s latest Cd titled Forever Young. It’s a great album! There’s a song that I believe accurately describes how God views us in light of our imperfections. The song is appropriately titled Imperfect me. The title alone brings to mind so many virtues and flaws at the same time . It’s a constant reminder of our need for God. It talks about the necessary process of God developing and sculpting our humility and identity in Him.
What to do while I’m waiting
THE STRUGGLE
I wish I could say that the smile on my face matches how I feel, while I’m in the process of waiting. I’ve found that, often times waiting can be the most uncomfortable, and painful process. However, I’ve learned that when I wait on God and stick to His process, I’ve experienced rich rewards. Most importantly I’ve learned that God strengthens us when we lean on Him during life’s delays. HOPE & A FUTURE
God’s plans for your future!
Jeremiah 29:11 is by far one of my all time favorite verses from the Bible. When you think about it,it’s comforting to know that God has a plan. Yet as comforting as it is, for some reason it’s easy to come up with our own plans and expectations for life. I can’t help but to think about my own plans that I have laid out that may or may not turn out exactly how I planned.
The difference between my plans and God’s plan
God’s plan is sure
His plan was laid out and settled before you were even thought of. From beginning to the end. I have to remind myself constantly that God knows where I’ve been, where I am, an where I will be! You may detour,or even get rerouted, but His plan remains.
God’s plan has purpose
There is a purpose for the plan God has for your life. Many time that purpose carries impact. Gods plan for your life includes purpose that will impact someone else’s life.
God’s plan ignites hope
Hope in today’s culture is becoming a rare commodity. There are actually hopeless people in the world. God’s plan for your life lived out for the world to see can inspire someone else to hope again. It’s a win win!
I encourage you to seek God for the plan he has for you. I openly and honestly ask God constantly to reveal His plan for my life and future. It’s saved me time and money. Most of all my soul is fulfilled in that fact that I am fulfilling purpose and impacting lives for the better.
30 Years in the Making
3 decades of life, love, and lessons!
This year I experienced the privileged of turning 30! I wanted to take a second and reflect on what has transpired in the past 3 decades. Christ was at the peak of His life and ministry at 30. Martin Luther King Jr. was at the peak of his mission at 30. I am certainly no where NEAR or even remotely close to accomplishing what they have. I’m like the apostle Paul, I am pressing forward to reach and attain the high calling in Christ that’s on my life. Forward motion and growth is my life long aim.
Surrendered Living
Believing God has a plan for EVERYTHING!
It’s funny how God begins to stretch your faith in areas you may of thought you where doing OK in. I’ve always believed God has a plan for my life. Learning to surrender every inch of it to God has been the ongoing process, and at times, a challenge. I’ve come to the conclusion that if I can trust God with my eternal soul and resting place, surely I can trust Him with every area of my life.
Hello World!
Let me start by introducing myself. My Name is Mercedes Dominique. I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, hope to be a mother one day, a motivational speaker, a teacher, a chaplain, a self proclaimed fashionista, interior designer, make up enthusiast, a mentor, a friend, a woman, and above all, a lover and servant of Jesus Christ. I wanted to create a forum where women can have a heart to heart about the many roles and responsibilities we juggle through out life. I believe as women, God has placed purpose inside us. Purpose that we as wives, mothers, sisters, and friends, should fulfill. However, many times the roles and responsibilities we carry for others can overshadow and sometimes even burden us to the point where we forget to fulfill the purpose in which God has place on our lives. My hearts desire for many of these posts is that you be encouraged, up lifted, and inspired by not only myself, but many other great women I’ve had the privileged to meet along the way. So, please check in and let me know what you think.
Enjoy reading!!!
